About the Mission:

The family of Vietnam War Veteran Larry W. Houghwot has requested Patriot Guard Riders' participation in his military honors funeral services. Mr. Houghwot passed on 6 January 2026 at the age of 76.

Entering the Army on 20 May 1969, Mr. Houghwot served his nation for18 months on active duty, trained as Ordinance Specialist (55B20) . His time included an 11 month and 23 day tour of duty in Vietnam attached to the 54th Ordinance Company, in the Central Highlands of Vietnam. He was honorably discharged at Army Personnel Center Oakland California on 22 November 1970, with reserve obligations terminated 19 May 1975. For his service Mr. Houghwot was awarded; National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal w/1 Bronze Service Star and a Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal w/1960 Device.

Mr. Houghwot was a member of the American Legion Post# 556 Frewsburg N.Y and the Jamestown War Veterans.

After the briefing, members will stand a flag line for arriving family and guests from 2 to 4pm, with military honors expected at end of the mission. Thank you for standing for Mr. Houghwot and his loving family.
