About the Mission:
The family of Bernard Paul Pitts has requested Patriot Guard Riders' participation in his military honors funeral services. Bernard, 80, passed on Wednesday, March 4, 2026.
Not much information is available about Bernard's life and service, but we do know that he was born in Albany, NY on 11 February 1946. He enlisted in the U.S. Army on 25 February 1963 and served on active duty during the Vietnam War. He was trained as a Medical Specialist (MOS 91B40), and was assigned to the U.S. Army Regional Medical Center in Landstuhl, Germany. He spent almost 3 years there, until his honorable discharge at the rank of Sergeant (T),(E-5), on 11 January 1967. He completed his inactive reserve obligation on 24 February 1969, and for his service, was awarded; U.S. Army Good Conduct Medal and National Defense Service Medal.
