About the Mission:

The family of Daniel B. Godin has requested Patriot Guard Riders' participation in his military honors funeral services.  Daniel passed away peacefully on February 10, 2026, just days after celebrating his 100th birthday.

Born on February 5, 1926 in Worcester, Massachusetts, Daniel entered the U.S. Marine Corps on 5 May 1944 in Boston.  He was assigned to Marine Aircraft Group 32 in Tsing Tao, China, during the occupation, from 23 June 1945 until 29 July 1946.  He attained the rank of Private First Class and was honorably discharged at Camp LeJeune, NC during July of 1946.  For his service, he was awarded a Good Conduct Medal, Marksman Badge - Rifle and WW II Lapel Pin.

Following his service, Daniel became a respected restaurateur, owning and operating restaurants in South Glens Falls, Glens Falls, and Saratoga Springs.  He was a proud member of the American Legion and supporter of the American Legion Riders.

Special Information:

Members will stand a flag line during the Visitation period, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm, including standing honor guard on a rotational basis.  At the conclusion of services, members will escort to Pine View Cemetery for internment with military honors.
