About the Mission:

The family of Robert J. "Bob" Belisario, Sr. has requested Patriot Guard Rider participation in his military honors funeral services.  Robert, age 100, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2026, at his daughter’s home in Kissimmee, Florida.

Born on April 20, 1925, in Albany, NY, Robert enlisted in the United States Navy in 1942 and served as a Corpsman in the Pacific Theater during World War II.  When he returned stateside, he served at the US Naval Hospital in Bathesda, Maryland.  He served in the Navy for six years, until his honorable discharge in 1948 at the rank of Petty Officer and a rating of Pharmacist Mate. For his service, he was awarded a U.S. Navy Good Conduct Medal and a World War II Victory Medal.

Returning to Schenectady, Robert entered the reserves and joined the medical department of the 139’th Fighter Squadron at Schenectady Airport. He relocated to Florida after retiring from Salisbury Chevrolet in 1979. While in Florida, he worked as general manager for Trans Asia Industries, in Freeport. After 15 years in Florida, he and his wife Gerry returned to New York and settled in Mechanicville, NY.  He was awarded his High School Diploma, Class of 1943 on May 1, 2003, along with many other veterans who bravely signed up and served their country without ever graduating from high school.

Members will stand a flag line for the arrival of family and guests until 11am, when a service will be conducted. After the service, members will reform our flag line for the dignified transfer, and escort to Saratoga National Cemetery.
