About the Mission:
This veteran honorably served this country from May 1968 to May 1970, serving in Vietnam from October 1968 to October 1969. He was schooled as an Infantry Individual Fire Crewman and served with 1st Batallion, 59th Infantry, 97th Infantry. He attained the rank of SP4, being awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal w/ 2 Bronze Service Stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal w/ 1960 device, Expert Badge (M16), Sharpshooter Badge (M14), Marksman Badge (81mm), 2 O/S bars and Combat Infantryman Badge (1st award).
After his service, he became a long haul tractor trailer driver for Cassing Inc., eventually becoming the dispatcher for the company. He was Commander of the William Clinton Story Post #42 American Legion, for five years. The family has requested Patriot Guard Riders to stand and honor him for his service.
