About the Mission:

Major Sorffly Davius was serving on active duty in Kuwait when he suffered a medical emergency. He started his honorable career in the Air Force in 2004 and was deployed from 2010 to 2011 in Enduring Freedom.  He transferred to the New York National Guard in 2013, became an FDNY Medic, and eventually became an NYPD Officer. Over his years of service, he was awarded; Bronze Star Medal (posthumous), Meritorious Service Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal (3rd Award), Combat Action Badge, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award (2nd Award), National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Air Force Expeditionary Service Ribbon w/ Gold Frame, Air Force Overseas Service Ribbon and Humane Service to New York State Medal.

 The Patriot Guard has been asked to stand and honor this service member who has given so much to his country.

Special Information:

Meet ASC Jim at funeral home for a dignified transfer. Escort will then respond to Christian Cultural Center 12020 Flatlands Ave., Brooklyn. Members who can not make the funeral home can meet at 0815, the Cultural Center for dignified transfer into church. There will be a viewing from 9 am to 10:45 am with mass to follow. After mass, escort will respond to Pinelawn Memorial for burial. NYPD should be involved in this as well.
