About the Mission:
The family of John W. "Jack" Grande has requested Patriot Guard Riders' participation in his military honors funeral services. John, 82, of Gansevoort, NY, passed away at his home on Saturday, March 28, 2026.
Born on February 22, 1944 in Little Falls, NY, Jack graduated from St. Mary's Academy during June of 1962. He joined the U.S. Air Force on 3 January 1963 and was trained as an Air Policeman (AFSC 77150). He served for 3 years and 11 months on active duty, including 1 year and 6 months assigned to the 5010th Air Police Squadron at Eielson Air Force Base, near Fairbanks, Alaska. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Airman First Class (E-4), and for his service, was awarded; Air Force Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal and Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon.
After returning home from his military service, John worked for the Evening Times Newspaper and Prudential Insurance, where he later retired. He also worked part-time for Adirondack Radiology in Glens Falls, NY. Jack was a member of St. Clements Church where he served as an usher. He volunteered for Habitat for Humanity, Rebuilding Together Saratoga, and most recently as an Honor Guard and Assistant Quartermaster at the Gerald B.H. Solomon National Cemetery.
